Sailing lets you find some peace and quiet

Sailing is a great way to bring peace and quiet into our busy lives; the simple sounds of the wind as it fills the sails, or the water as it flows past the boat can be very relaxing and centering, a perfect antidote to the stresses of the modern world.

This is the Jantje in Germany on her way to Kiel. She came into service on 17 April 1930 as a fishing cutter. If you are interessted you can find out all about her history here.

This is the Pegasus in Denmark in the middle of nowhere. I sailed on her for a while and the is a fast beauty.

This is the Avontuur in Dutch waters. I just like this photo. It is like a landscape photo - foreground - middle ground and background. That's the way I want to take my photos :)

I took this photo while a regatta and I always forget the name of this one... :(

I took the opportunity in Denmark to take a photo of this lovely vessel. I think its own by a club of people maintaining and sailing the vessel. Very traditional all wooden boat.
