It is kind of funny but when I look at a pile of pine cones I see a certain order in what should be chaos; maybe I could show my friends a picture to compare reactions. So, once more, I embarked on an expedition 20 km southwest the center of the city to breath fresh air and take a couple of pictures.

In the National Botanical Garden, Havana, Cuba there are several groves of pines. I selected one in particular for the size and design of its cones and collected a few to make a composition in situ.

As ornaments I used a broken shell from a Liguus fasciatus nobilis, and an unknown fossilized leaf. (photo by: author)

After a couple of photographs I thought it was a better idea to take them to my studio and, with controlled lighting and at ease, try different settings.

The definitive composition was decorated with a broken shell as a discordant note.

Tip: You can make a fully open cone shrink by submerging it in water for a couple of minutes.

The result is interesting. Like a ray of light cuts the picture diagonally :)

Playing with light and shaders.

Hey. I would say "cones". Acorns are fruits of oaks as I see it. Maybe I am wrong.

Fixed. Thank you very much.

In spanish we use the same word for both :)

:) Many such confusions between Russian and English too.
