Dear Steemian..
This article is a response to @xpilar's invitation to all Steemians to contribute to the Steemit ecosystem. We can see an interesting invitation by reading the article here
Something intrigued me while reading the statement written by @xpilar.
Do you just want to blackmail us as a society without giving anything in return, what about those who voted for you. Are you not going to give anything back to them?
This is a slap in the face for all of us who are members of Steemit. We often feel the need to make posts to earn money. Then after we get the reward, we immediately take it to the exchange and convert it into fiat money for us to enjoy as
"the result of our hard work"
.I emphasize using quotation marks.
Why?
Because we have become arrogant, arrogant and feel everything we produce is because of us. We forget that the rewards we receive are from upvotes given by other Steemian or community. We think that all the rewards are because we have succeeded in making great works so that it is rightfully awarded.
On the one hand, yes, it's true and very legitimate.
But on the other hand when we take all the payments and disburse them for us to enjoy without giving back to people who give upvotes and community or bigger to the platform then it is clearly not a good action.
Taking all payments for disbursement is an act that does not reflect the goodwill of contributing to the platform.
This attitude is certainly counter productive for the development of Steemit. We need to again call on everyone in the community to continue to build themselves, communities and platforms on a wider scale. Our honesty makes us feel like we can get rewarded by not considering participating in developing or contributing to the platform, we need to eliminate it. We need to invite everyone to feel like they have Steemit as a social network and can take part in developing the Steem blockchain. The hope is that we Steem will be stronger and we can enjoy it more beautifully.
How to contribute to Steem
As community members in Steemit, of course we have a responsibility to help make the Steemit ecosystem healthier. Steemit that is in the Steem blockchain will certainly be able to contribute to increasing the value of Steem in many steps. One of them is to build your own Steem Power. We need to power up the Steem that we have, if there is currently no Steem, we have to change SBD to Steem through the internal market. After becoming Steem then we can do Steem Power Up.
We must not be selfish by attracting all Steem, SBD or TRX to the exchange. Because bringing liquid Steem to the market will actually cause the value of STeem to decrease. This is one thing we must remember as Steemian. We have to keep trying to increase our own SP. This will help the platform move in a more positive direction.
There are several reasons that we need to build our own SP.
1. The sense of belonging
With a larger SP, we can make our platform a leading platform. We will feel more ownership of Steem so we feel called to take responsibility for keeping Steem better.
2. We are not milkers.
By simply pulling all the payouts from each post shows our attitude which is extorting the community and platform. We just want to get paid without wanting to contribute to Steem. This is an indication of bad intentions or at least a selfish attitude.
On the other hand, by doing Power Ups, we build our own SP and take part by freezing liquid Styeem and becoming investment capital in the future.
3. Support other Steemian
The more often we do power ups, we increase our ability to help others. The way we share is of course by giving upvotes to others. the bigger the SP we have, the higher the upvote value will be p[ual. This is a blessing for all the Steemian we upvote.
4. Reduce dependency
Currently we always hope to the whales to give upvotes. We become fans or sometimes even become sycophants to get upvotes from whales. This is one bad thing that we should avoid. One way is to build your own SP. Wouldn't we be happier when we already have a large SP and give upvotes than wishing for a whale to upvote our posts?
I am among those who believe that one day we will be able to grow into dolphins or even whales by diligently doing power ups. This will allow us to be free from dependence on other large accounts. Because I believe that even whales have limitations in managing communities, so we can help them by increasing our own SP. Isn't it that the more accounts that have large SPs, the more people will feel helped through upvotes?
5. Opportunity to be a witness
In the Steem blockchain we know the witness. They are Steemian chosen by other Steemian. To be selected, of course, you must meet many criteria such as being well acquainted with and experienced in blockchain technology, and one thing that is quite important is being known by many Steemians. In order to be known of course there must be many people who are in their great influence. We can have a large influence by starting with a large SP. Without big SP we can't have any significant influence. The witnesses have gone beyond this stage so that they are the people who are chosen to be witnesses.
Steemians will certainly feel happy if the chosen witness contributes a lot to the success of each post. The hope for the witnesses will certainly be closer if there are more witnesses who give advice and appeal to their voters. And the Steemian will be very relieved to follow the advice or instructions of the witnesses who serve as their patron or leader. As I know witnesses like @steemchiller, @xpilar.witness, @steem-agora, @justyy, and many others are doing a lot on Steem. They are fighting to keep making Steem better and we can enjoy it until now.
In the end, I join the invitation as called by @xpilar to take part in contributing to Steem by continuously increasing our own SP
Thus my writing this time, hopefully it will be useful for all of us
Best regard from Indonesia
