UPDATE ON THE WILD FIRE FIGHTING BRIGADES IN IBIZA. Sept. 2022.

Hi Steemians,
just a little break in the posting of my other project the Serendava book.
I wanted to share with you the wonderful news that we are already in mid September and we have reached EVERY SINGLE FIRE THIS SUMMER IN TIME, and put it out before it reached a difficult size. We still have another month ahead to reach the end of risk time (15th of October) but now we should be getting some rain soon. We hope so.
The rest of Spain has had large amounts of rain calling off the dry season and we have only had a few spots of mud clouds coming from the the Sahara. 35ºC in the day is the hottest September Ibiza has a record of.
Anyway, I do thing the humidity is high and there is less risk of large fires.
So this very unusually quiet season for us has consisted in keeping up our training and hiking into paths, wha we call, " reconocimiento del terreno" " knowledge of the terrain" . So as we visited some nice trails off the tracks where tourist visit I thought it might be nice to share with you.

The thing is that some of the ones in the group know many paths because we have lived here all our lives and we show them to the ones who have come to work here from Spain mainland.
This is the arrival to a water spring that is now dry in Summer.

Here is my star find in this fire. I felt sorry for the tree that had had such a complicated life to then end burnt!

I hope we continue to keep the bush fires out for the rest of the fire risk season.

Unfortunately Spain, like Italy, is at great risk every year, luckily there are people like you, who do everything to save our nature💪

I am glad to hear that you are doing this great job of putting out the fires that have formed due to the drought. I find your duties as a firefighter very interesting.

yes, we are really hoping for good rain. I hope it doesn´t come as torrential rain, but that is going to be quite probable, given the high temperatures.

I wouldnt know how it feels like to see a fire coming out from a bush like this..,we dont have it here in my country Nigeria. But i have heard a lot about wilddfire..and just few weeks ago, i read an article from weisser-rabe about wildfire ..i guess.., and she took time to explain the causes of it.

However, i'll rather say ..this job is more sensitive and i want to commend you and your team for your services/ sacrifices...keep the energy up...!!

Thank you so much @ubongudofot for your words. You are very lucky to not have this problem of wildfires where you live. In Europe there are countries that never had this problem that over the past two years have started to suffer these fires also due to the lack of rain. All due to this climate change. I hope your country doesn´t get affected by drought. Best Wishes!

Thank you. I hope such situation come to an end over there. And I would say, we are only fortunate here in Nigeria as we don't have it.
