A relic from early California - Seal Beach Pier

There's almost nothing left from the earlier more elegant days here. I see old photos of the beach areas and there are big grand buildings. Indoor pools next to the water... A type of concrete work that I have no name for. It's a sorry state we are in now and when the heat and sun never ends. I wish to leave, to move far far up north. Somewhere with forests and quiet places. A colder sea and brisk winds... I never write anything because what's the point of it? I have no means to go anywhere. No one to do anything with. No one to call or talk to. Most people here thinks it's paradise. Probably it is if you have AC, and a place to park your car. I wish I could go out tonight. If I move my car I will have no place to park. The street sweeper comes early and it's a ticket. My life wasn't always like this. I wish I had this site when I was in my 30's and touring around a bit in my band. Surfing, painting, going out with friends. Going out on dates. Now? I'm so boring I can't even stand it.

There are many changes to some places and of course some we even can't recognize how they were before and what they are now. In general the society if different when in the past people prefer to go our meet and have fun. Now they stay in their social media and do not bother to go out.

You are right saying that people think California is a paradise but it is so long we do not experience ourselves. Maybe because of that this is nature of a human being to explore and to get that adrenaline splash that we sometimes get addicted to.

Much of it here and everywhere is having the resources to do anything or go anywhere. For instance many people have no air conditioning here. That alone is huge.
