Can't Hurt Me" is a memoir by David Goggins, co-written with Adam Skolnick. It details Goggins' journey from a childhood of poverty, abuse, and racism to becoming a Navy SEAL, ultra-endurance athlete, and motivational speaker. The book is a raw and honest account of Goggins' struggles and the mental and physical training techniques he used to overcome them. The book left me with a powerful message that we all have the ability to push beyond our perceived limits and achieve greatness, as long as we have the mental toughness and discipline to do so.
When and how did you acquire that book? Did someone recommend it to you or was it a coincidence to come across it?
I first heard about "Can't Hurt Me" through social media and was intrigued by the book's message. I acquired it through an online retailer and read it in a digital format. The book was not recommended to me by anyone, but I had seen it referenced in a few podcasts and motivational videos that I enjoy watching.
What feelings and emotions came to you once you read the book? Did it change your way of seeing life in any aspect?
The book evoked a range of emotions in me, from awe at Goggins' accomplishments, to empathy for the struggles he faced in his childhood. It inspired me to examine my own mental limitations and to push beyond them. Goggins' message of self-discipline and resilience changed my way of seeing life in the sense that it reminded me that our greatest obstacles are often mental, and that we can overcome them with the right mindset.
What do you think was the message that the author wanted to convey in that book?
I believe the message that the author wanted to convey in "Can't Hurt Me" was that we can all overcome our perceived limits and achieve greatness if we are willing to put in the work and have the mental toughness to endure the hardships that come with it. Goggins uses his own life story to illustrate how he did this and encourages readers to adopt a similar mindset.
Would you read it again? Give us the reasons for whatever the answer may be.
I would definitely read "Can't Hurt Me" again, as it is a powerful reminder of the potential we all have within ourselves. The book offers practical advice on mental and physical training techniques that can be applied to any area of life, and the story of Goggins' journey is inspiring and motivational
I would like to invite @drqamu and @aamu to take part .
