With a modest 448 meters of height, Reinebringen is far from one of the highest peaks in the Lofoten. However, this more than compensates for the iconic view from the top. The view coupled with the easy access from Reine and the constant flow of photos on social media means Reinebringen is one of the most popular hikes in the Lofoten Islands, with hundreds of people climbing every day during the summer season.
In 2016, the construction of a stone staircase upstairs began due to increased erosion and the danger of rock falling due to the large number of visitors. As of July 2019 and at a cost of NOK 7 million, the Nepalese Sherpas team has completed all but the last 50 meters at the top of the mountain. So now the route is little more than a stone staircase with 1560 steps. It is likely that the steps will be completed when funding can be obtained.
Such beautiful view from height. That cloud looks to rain soon :)
