Wood-Burned Art: Skyrim Map (Club100)

Hello everyone! I've been hard at work recreating some art to bolster inventory after a successful art show. Unfortunately, that means I don't have much to show off at the moment, as it's all Calvin and Hobbes pieces that are being redone. I will probably have some new ones and there are probably some I haven't posted yet, so another round of those will likely be posted at some point.

Another thing I am recreating is some Skyrim (video game) maps because people also love those. I didn't have any finished pictures of the one currently in progress for obvious reasons, but I do have a couple finished cutting boards that get the point across. The cutting board is actually a bit larger than the one I am working on now, but not by too much.

One thing I really have to watch out for is spelling. I actually sold one of these about a month ago and while I was packaging it up, I realized I missed a letter in Skryim. I made it "Skyim". Fortunately I was able to fix it and didn't have to scramble to remake the piece. Whew!

It might be surprising to know that these maps actually take a good bit of time. You would think it would be fast and easy, especially since I created a template to make it easier to transfer to wood. While that does save some time, it still takes quite awhile to trace all the lines accurately and burning words isn't very fun either. The pens I am using also get pretty hot, so I use finger sleeves to protect my skin when going with hotter temperatures.
