FALLAS 2 - FLOWERS! 🌸🌹🌼

The second entry that I dedicate to the Fallas of Valencia is about the Ofrenda (Offering) of flowers, an act in which the falleras women from all over Valencia give a bouquet of flowers to the Virgin of the Desamparados or Geperudeta (Jorobadita), patron saint of the city of Valencia.

This tradition began in the 1950s when a fallera spontaneously went to bring a bouquet of flowers to the Virgin. Since then, the Offering of flowers has been one of the events celebrated during the Fallas week.

With these flowers, the dressers make a mantle made up of all the bouquets brought by the falleras. In addition, the falleras commissions bring baskets full of flowers that will flood the square of the Virgin.

Hola a todos amigos de la comunidad WOX

La segunda entrada que dedico a las Fallas de Valencia trata sobre la Ofrenda de flores, un acto en el que las mujeres falleras de toda Valencia le regalan un ramo de flores a la virgen de los Desamparados o Geperudeta (Jorobadita), patrona de la ciudad de Valencia.

Esta tradición comenzó en los años 50 cuando una fallera espontáneamente fue a llevarle un ramo de flores a la Virgen. Desde entonces, la Ofrenda de flores es uno de los actos que se celebra durante la semana fallera.

Con estas flores los vestidores, confeccionan un manto formado por todos los ramos traídos por las falleras. Además, las comisiones falleras traen cestos llenos de flores que inundarán la plaza de la Virgen.
