FALLAS I -🔥🔥

Last weekend I travelled to Valencia to be with the family during the celebration of Las Fallas, Valencia's famous festivities.

From the 15th of March until the 19th which will be burned, hundreds of Fallas monuments or FALLAS are "planted" all over Valencia. During these days firecrackers, fireworks, and marching bands flood the streets of Valencia.

Thousands of people come from all over the world to enjoy the festivities.

Practically in every neighbourhood of Valencia there is a falla or group of neighbours who plant a "big" falla and a "children's" falla. In total, approximately 800 fallas are burnt every year.

To give you an idea of what the fiesta is like you need to know the "fallero vocabulary (summarised)".

🏠 CASAL: A place where the falleros meet to eat and drink. It is usually a marquee. There is a casal in every neighbourhood in Valencia.

☀️ CALORET FALLER: Spring and sunny temperature during the days of fallas that invites you to go out in the street.

⏰ DESPERTÀ: During the Fallas festivities we don't need an alarm clock. In the Despertà, at 8:00 am, the falleros go out into the street to throw firecrackers to wake everyone up.

🧜🏾‍♀️ FALLA: Monument made of various materials, made up of figures called NINOTS.

💣 MASCLETÀ: Every day at 14:00h, from the 1st to the 19th of March, there is a fireworks display, similar to a bombing, full of noise and the smell of gunpowder.

🔥CREMÀ: This is the end of the festival, on the 19th of March, when all the Fallas are burnt.

In this post I want to show you what the falla that is planted every year in the Town Hall Square in Valencia looks like.

. The "big" falla, formed by a huge heart made of sticks called "varetas", was made by a fallera artist, who dedicated the falla to her father, who recently had a heart operation.

.The "children's" falla was dedicated to dance, to the diversity of dances from various towns in Valencia.

The Falla of the Town Hall Square is the only one that is out of contest. It stands out for its spectacular nature. These are the fallas that were planted in the square in the 50s, 90s, and more recently the Okuda falla . Old fallas - source

El pasado fin de semana viajé a Valencia para estar con la familia durante la celebración de las Fallas, las conocidas fiestas de Valencia.

Dede el día 15 de Marzo hasta el 19 que seran quemadas, cientos de monumentos falleros o FALLAS son "plantados" por toda Valencia. Durante estos días los petardos, fuegos artificiales, y bandas de música inundan las calles de Valencia.

Miles de personas vienen de muchas partes del mundo a disfrutar de las fiestas.

Prácticamente en cada barrio de Valencia hay una falla o agrupación de vecinos que plantan una falla "grande" y otra "infantil". En total se queman cada año aproximadamente nada menos que 800 fallas.

Para que os hagáis una idea de como es la fiesta tenéis que conocer el "vocabulario fallero"

🏠 CASAL: Lugar donde se reunen los falleros básicamente para comer y beber. Suele ser una carpa. Para entendernos en cada barrio de Valencia hay un casal.

☀️CALORET FALLER: Temperatura primaveral y soleada en los días de fallas que invita a salir a la calle.

⏰ DESPERTÀ: Durante las fiestas falleras no necesitamos el despertador. En la Despertà, a las 8:00 am, los falleros salen a la calle a tirar petardos para despertar a todo el mundo.

🧜🏾‍♀️ FALLA: Monumento hecho de varios materiales, formado por figuras llamadas NINOTS.

💣 MASCLETÀ: Cada día a las 14:00h, del 1 al 19 de Marzo,se celebra un espectáculo pirotécnico, similar a un bombardeo, lleno de ruido y olor a pólvora.

🔥 CREMÀ: Es el fin de fiesta, el día 19 de Marzo, cuando se queman todas las Fallas.

En este post quiero enseñaros como era la falla que cada año se planta en la Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Valencia.

La falla "grande" formada por un enorme corazón hecho de palitos llamados "varetas", fue realizada por una artista fallera, que dedicó la falla a su padre, recientemente operado del corazón.

La falla "infantil" estaba dedicada a la danza, a la diversidad de bailes que hay en los pueblos de Valencia.

La Falla de la plaza del Ayuntamiento, es la única que está fuera de concurso. Destaca por su espectacularidad.

Arriba os muestro un como eran las fallas hace unos años, se plantaron en la plaza en los años 50, 90, y más recientemente la falla de Okuda.- fuente: internet.
