FALLAS III / Fallas costumes- Indumentaria fallera 🔥👚👖👗🔥

In the report that I dedicate to the Fallas festivities, today's post is about the Fallas costumes.

The fallera costume is formed by a skirt with a lot of volume and a tight bodice made with beautiful brightly coloured fabrics.

The fallera also wears accessories such as mantillas, jewellery and a very elaborate hairstyle.

The fallera and fallero costumes have evolved throughout history, and in relation to the male costume there is a very curious story.

The traditional male costume could be of two types, both very colourful and eye-catching:

• The TORRENTÍ: a tight-fitting suit of jacket and trousers in bright colours. It can have a blanket, hat and sash, also in different colours.

. 50 years of costume. My brother and his son, my little nephew with the same Fallas costume, the Torrenti one / 50 años de traje. Mi hermano y su hijo, mi sobrinito con el mismo traje.

• The SARAGUEY, in this case the trousers are wider, like breeches, and he also wears a waistcoat and brightly coloured accessories.

. In this photo, a mixture of Torrentís and Saragüeys, not very orthodox...they wear espadrilles and no sunglasses! / En esta foto, una mezcla poco ortodoxa de los dos estilos. Lo suyo es llevar alpargatas y nada de gafas de sol, al menos para la foto!

In the 60's and well into the 80's it was imposed that all falleros had to wear a horrendous black suit, called "CUCARACHA", they say that the Franco regime imposed it to show that there were no social inequalities. Also in this period there was a boom of "modern", despising the traditional and old.

Rebellious Falleros wanted to wear the beautiful traditional costumes and were punished...

Nowadays, fortunately, the traditional costume has returned to the streets... the Torrentí, the Saragüey, or a mixture of both!...you don't see any "cockroaches" anymore. The traditionally colourful, explosive and chaotic spirit of the Valencian has triumphed over the imposed uniformity!

Hola amigos de la comunidad WOX,

En el reportaje que dedico a las fiestas de las Fallas, el post de hoy trata de la indumentaria fallera.

El traje de fallera está formado por una falda con mucho volumen y corpiño ajustado hechos con bonitas telas de colores brillantes.

La fallera también usa complementos como mantillas, joyas y un peinado muy elaborado.

El traje de fallera y el de fallero han evolucionado a lo largo de la historia, y en relación al traje masculino hay una historia muy curiosa.

El traje tradicional masculino podía ser de dos tipos, ambos muy vistosos y coloridos:

• El TORRENTÍ: traje ajustado de chaqueta y pantalón de colores vivos. Puede llevar mantita, gorro y fajín también de colores.

• El SARAGUEY, en este caso el pantalón es más ancho, como un calzón y también usa chaleco y complementos de colores vivos.

En los años 60 y hasta bien entrados los años 80 se impuso que todos los falleros debía llevar un horroroso traje negro, llamado "CUCARACHA", dicen que el franquismo lo impuso para hacer ver que no existían desigualdades sociales. También en esta época hubo un boom de "lo moderno", despreciando lo tradicional y antiguo.

Falleros rebeldes, quisieron llevar los bonitos trajes tradicionales y fueron sancionados.

Hoy en día, afortunadamente ha vuelto el traje tradicional a las calles... el Torrentí, el Saragüey, o una mezcla de ambos!...ya no se ve ninguna "cucaracha". El espírito colorista, explosivo y caótico del valenciano ha triunfado frente a la uniformidad impuesta!
