Hello my dear Steemians,

*Today I wanted to share with you an interesting book that I read recently, actually first it was a series that we watched and after I read the book. The whole story was funny, in summer when we were back to Germany it was an interesting new series on TV, that was called Echo einer Winternacht" that was done based on the book of written by Val McDermid.

You probably noticed that the name Val McDermid is Scottish. That is why we decided to give it a try and see if that is interesting.

To our surprise the story happened in our area in Fife, where we live and the young detective Karen Pirie lived in our town Kirkcaldy, so time to time they showed the promenade where we usually walk.

Once we knew that we watched this 3-part series, that was exciting to see many familiar places in our town, St. Andrews and of course Edinburgh.

When we told my mother-in-law about the movie she just remembered that the story is a bit familiar to her and after a short time she found a book that you see on the top. She received this book few years ago from a friend who after reading told her that the story about our area and gave as a present.

After watching the movie I decided to read the book and as it always is books are more interesting than the movies, the other good side when reading we completely immerse into the story and it is like you live the story again because we imagine everything a bit different then it was in movies.

In the story it is about a murder of a young girl 25 years ago that was not solved and became a cold case, after so many years and after pressure from public the case was once again was reviewed, it was given to young Detective who just joined as Detective, nobody thought that she will be successful but she managed to solve it.

Later on when I was at work and chatted to one of my colleagues, it was funny to find that her mother and the author of the book know each other. I was very surprised but on other hand Scotland is a small country so no wonder that people know each other.

At the end if you are looking for an interesting book or movie please take it to consideration.

A great coincidence, I mean what you say when you were at work, your friend's mother and the author of the book know each other, you could say that you approach people with whom you can talk about topics like the one you describe in the post , related to the book.

Yes, that was like haunted book that wanted my to read it, I was very surprised to see so many coincidences. But at the end loved story about that young detective. I found that there are 5 more books with this detective, so need to get on and hopefully there will be more movies soon too :)

Seems interesting will try to search the book
