Hello my dear Steemians,
Today is my last long day of work and hopefully I will have more time to catch up on many posts and reply the comments. Currently I am doing that early morning before having breakfast and late night before going to bed. Therefore, apologize for not replying some of your comments and also if I do not leave my comments.
Every day usually brings some good and bad news. Luckily everything is fine with my family and work is going on as planned. The only trouble is recently we started to feel the consequences of Brexit.
From beginning on we were very skeptic about it and the bright, wealthy future that the Government promised to people is has not arrived and also not visible on horizon.
What we noticed first it was Inflation, GBP dropped from being 1GBP=1,34 and on some occasion up to 1,80 Euro to 0,9 Euro or 1,18E. Today.
The Visa and restriction to travel makes it hectic even to go back home for us to Europe.
For young people who graduated Universities the Diploma is not valid as before and need to have a lot of different registration processes that are expensive and also lengthy
The prices went up for everything, it is understandable that food will get expensive, that is no problem at all, but since beginning of the year the Government took the energy price cap from Gas and Electricity from April so the bills for that will go up. We have received our yesterday. Until now we were paying about 200 GBP per month for Gas and Electricity from now on we will pay 580GBP. We will see how our financial situation will be in couple of month with those bills.
I hate all the changes and ask if Brexit was really something good? But then who benefits from it, definitely not normal usual people.
I'm so sorry yall have to go through that. Brexit was a terrible idea. Economic cooperation is a lot better than economic independence, especially when it's with like-minded people, like Europeans.
My wife talks about it every so often (we are in the US), because her company does a lot of business in Europe. She talks about how regulatory compliance has changed and it's just a lot of work changing all the rules, for no good reason.
Nations can do what they want. It's not that Briton can't choose how they do business, but it's usually better to be unified than it is to be segregated…especially economically!
And especially now that there is war in Eastern Europe, and Europeans need a lot more access to "non-Russian" oil and gas.

Brexit is a political decision and was not done in the best interest of nation and people. They played with emotion of people and promised better future, who will refused to live in rich and blooming country but where it is now? At the moment there is no way back and of course many seeing the difficulties like the companies who used to work here or sell their stuff now due to taxes many will think before continuing that. Some companies moving their business to Europe which is easy for them. Will see how the life will be in near future.

Brexit is such a mess! I really think it came from an emotional feeling and wasn´t really studied beforehand. So many complications and difficulties for Europeans and Brits.

Yes, especially for people who have relatives on both sides and previously had no problem to travel to and back, we had a lot of support either sides and everyone was happy. People were told a lie and promised blooming future, but only what we see is negative impact.

Greetings @stef1, right now there is a madness in most of the countries of this world. The level of inflation that exists is tremendous, here in Latin America everything is tremendous. We have to move on, we don't know what is going to happen in this turbulence, I trust that the creator puts his hand in this madness and of course the human being wakes up from lethargy.

I recently read that in 2021 the UK's GDP grew by 7.5%, the fastest growth rate since World War II. These are the news arriving in Italy, but who knows if it's true and who knows if there are other aspects to evaluate. Do you live in the UK?

The 7.5% growth follows the "9.4% fall in GDP in 2020, when Covid-19 drove the economy into a steep slump". Source: The Guardian.
There is a Wikipedia article, where the influence of economic aspects of Brexit are outlined.
One of the most dangerous issues in the long term is the realistic possibility of either England being left on its own, or with Wales, when there would be no Britain left to speak of. That could happen if Scotland would at some point vote for independence in order to be able to rejoin EU, while the rising support for Sinn Féin could result in Northern Ireland becoming a part of Ireland. This latter prospect could potentially become a particularly tumultuous affair. And all that because of the fact that no matter how the majority in NI and Scotland vote in general elections or referendums like one on Brexit, England sets the tone.

Hello dear friend @stef1 good afternoon
I am very sorry that the changes that have been made in your country are beneficial; Inflation is a problem that the vast majority of countries are experiencing.
Beautiful works, I appreciate that you have taught us
Have a beautiful afternoon

Briton's sentiment on Brexit is mixed, some say that Britain is contributing more and not getting the benefits from other EU members, other businesses in Britain got affected because of restrictions in commerce to other EU members.
So it is a complicated matter and I am sure that maybe Brexit may had disenfranchised some but the majority feels otherwise and breaking away was the best choice for them. @stef1

About 80% of Britain's economy depended on being a part of the EU. That was all changed by the referendum, which took place six years ago. During this time there were opportunities to mitigate the damage by either voting for Theresa May's Brexit deal or voting for Corbyn's Labour in order to have another referendum. None of those opportunities received enough support. Thus now it is possible for everyone to see the benefits of being outside the EU - hardly a better state to be in than when Britain was a EU country.

Well, the whole Brexit thing was far-right activists' and people who aren't in positions of running big businesses wet dream in the first place. Everyone with any brain power knew it was going to be a disaster right from the beginning of Leave campaign even before the referendum took place. Reason? Because Farages and some such didn't have any plan whatsoever regarding what they are going to do if they win. It was a protest vote. Theresa May tried to save this country with some reasonable deal, but parliament didn't want it, turning it down three times in a row. Because, you know, we need to stick it to Brussels. And here we all are - sticking it to Brussels while surviving calamity after calamity (Covid crisis, Northern Ireland border problem, inflation, to be continued...). Thank you, Nigel Farage and friends.

Hi @peerynt thank you for such great comment, you summarized everything so well and this is a truth that many know and tried to prevent. But you know how easy to manipulate mass using the tactic like Farage or Trump. It is sad what is happening and who knows what the future will bring.

I think you're making a good point regarding manipulation because Brexit referendum did happen at a time when refugee crisis as well as the problem of ISIS terrorism helped people like Trump to power. But that wasn't just one or two men manipulating masses; I think a lot of manipulation was also done for them by people from online places like 4chan, who just love to see the world burn. They may know they are peddling a toxic agenda, but do it for the fun of ridiculing "normies". And then there are those who'd operate on behalf of some state's intelligence agencies. But sooner or later that populism and manipulation has to show that it can deliver on promises, or go.
I forgot to mention some other aspect in my previous comment regarding Brexit, and which, I think, also appertains to that same topic of manipulation, and I'm talking about the results that only are supposed to show up in a long term. I think me and you know a lot more about things like that than people in Western democracies. This was something fascinating to observe, starting already from the UKIP surge in 2014 elections, and up to approximately the time when Covid was recognized as a pandemic. The lack of recognizing Animal Farm Boxer's characteristics by right wing supporters and activists in themselves while increasingly labeling the opposition "communists" was truly gripping and at times eye opening. This was especially true in case of online right-wing activists from mediocre democracies of Eastern European countries. The heritage of Soviet Union is still around in those people, but what is truly shocking is to see that so many people in Britain are ready to chase a dream which requires the same kind of belief and naivety that was there when proletariat was supposedly busy building communism in Soviet Union during the last century, and which, of course, was never built. This is like the toxic post communism from former Soviet republics and so called socialist states of Eastern Europe had managed to infect the voter of Britain. An unintended yet not entirely unforeseen side effect of EU expansion. We should all learn some valuable lessons from all that, imo, otherwise Brexit won't be the most regrettable thing that's happened in EU in this century.

It seems that nowadays it is the easiest time to manipulate people especially using all modern Media, including twitter, telegram and even Tik Tok that never used. Actually, I try to avoid all those things, they are like swamp can suck people in and people are like addicted can't leave their mobile so that they do not miss anything. Frustrating to see that our young generation is growing with it.
In general everything that is happening now in UK concerns me very much and who knows what will be happening, but as always we all hope for better. Thank you for your comments, it was a pleasure to know your thoughts. By the way, why you do not post in via our community page. On and off I can nominate you for Community support @booming Upvote and also you can be seen by other moderators too.

If you meant my Doctor Strange review when asking about posting in WOX - I found a community page with beautiful flowers and interesting plants, and decided to try and see if I can fish some upvotes there. That plan didn't really work out. :(
WOX and my reviews are a tricky combination because people are posting pics, photos, art in there, and unless my post deals with some Bergman, Hitchcock, Lynch et al work, or independent art house, it may not fit in (as Martin Scorsese once said about Marvel blockbusters, "they are not cinema"). So I'm kinda careful with what I'd post as art.
I can only agree with your view regarding manipulation and media nowadays. It all happens fast, but at the same time, it is a lot easier to fact check everything as compared to the age before google and social networks were a thing. I think if one develops a list of trusted sources, all is not that bad.
Addiction is addiction - if it wasn't social network, it would be binge watching tv series or eating or something else as the root of addiction is usually psychological and not exactly a happy one. Other than that it's something that unites generations, and is a often just modern means of communication. So many times Youtube or TikTok videos actually show people have learnt or honed some skills, which I don't think is a bad thing.
