Cook it Yourself: Laghman or noodle soup

Today I wanted to present your one of our favourite dish that I have learned when I was a teen and of course from my mother. My mother cooked many different dishes and luckily we had many fresh vegetables and they were all quite affordable in summer. Also, the way how my mother taught us is if you like anything you can add them in any dish. That is why my way of preparing this dish is a bit different from traditional but also it varies every time when I cook depending on what we have

 

Laghman - traditional Central Asian dish

 

Laghman is a Uyghur noodle dish topped with a mild stew of meat and vegetables. It is considered to be Uyghur dish and when prepared as in old traditional way then the noodles should be handmade and pulled into the long spaghetti, that often very and very long. Nowadays, not many people do so and we often use just spaghetti.

But let's start from beginning and see what you need:

 

 

• beef appr. 400 mg
• one red pepper
• couple of small carrots
• brussels
• one onion
• couple of garlic gloves
• couple of potatoes
• knorr Beef Stock Pot
• appr. 500 mg of spaghetti

 

Process of cooking

 

First, I cut the beef into small pieces and using wok, I add a bit of oil and fry the meat till all water is gone and just fried in oil.

 

 

 

I usually use salt, pepper and tomato paste

 

 

I cut onion and carrots small and add to wok

 

 

Tomato paste will be added and fried a bit then some water will be added.

 

 

Then the cut vegetables will be added and cooked.

 

This is a boiling water with some salt and vegetable oil for Spaghetti that need to cooked appr. 10 min.

 

Now both parts are ready to be served.

 

I use a deep bowl and put first some spaghetti then add beef stew but not too much so that both of them equal. You simply mix them and enjoy your food.
