Hello dear Steemians,
Another little update from our renovation holiday. We have managed well to finish the painting of the walls and it required twice in order to get nice smooth layer and that the colour to be intense. We have chosen the colour called "Cashmere" it is almost like beige, we thought it will give a touch of sunlight too and make the room more spacious and light.

When we started to paint wall paper we thought to do only wall but leave the ceiling with the previous colour. But once the walls were ready the ceiling was looking too grey. Therefore, we used the same colour and painted the ceiling, of course, needed to buy more colour, that means more expenses.
In order to make a contrast we decided to chose the other colour for the arch that used to be an entrance but then we have closed it but left arch made of bricks there. Due to red colours of bricks we have used such cherry colour and it looks very well too

The next was of course, floor and we have chosen laminate, it is cheaper than parquet flooring but lately they are also quite resistent for pressure and water. The colours are like wood too. So we have bought all necessary stuff underlay as sound barrier. The rest was a "click" system it took @myskye about a day and half of the next morning.
Now we are ready with major work, only needs a little bits here and there, ceiling lamp and sofa. So still the final results will come in one of the next post. But till now we are happy with result. As to weather it is still daily raining and the temperature about +20+23C not more. So we still have enough time to finish work and then hopefully enjoy our free time.
The house looks great @stef1. Y'all have done so much work. I remember the early house photos you posted…I bet yall’s house has changed so much from all the renovations. That is something to be proud of.

Yes, it looks really nice, by the way, when you say the earlier photos you maybe mean the house in Scotland, this one is in Germany and here we just upgrading the room of our son, that used to be decorated as a child's room and of course, now he is grown up while we live in Scotland. So we decided to turn it into a room af grown up one.
We are glad that we are almost done with it, so hope to have couple of weeks of nice holiday then :)

Yes, time to time we need some changes in decoration, furniture or colours. I am not a great fan of renovation but my hubby is so skilful, I am just very lucky and just help out where I can, mostly to clean around or to bring the stuff out or in :)

The painting is so nice, and I love your choice of colour, it will surely lighting the the room, and the floor too the laminated looks beautiful just like the parquet own (just a slight difference) you will really enjoy this space now.

Thank you @goodybest, I am glad that you like our choice. It is always difficult to decide what colour to use, it should not be too dark or too "cold". I wanted to have couple of different colours on different walls but my husband does not like it. at least we agreed in that little space under arch.
I am happy with the choice of laminate too, it looks great and hope will last for few years :)

To be very sincere, if I'm asked to choose between parquet and laminate, I will prefer the latter! And I believe it will last.
