Hello my dear Steemians,

What do you like in old cites? Of course, it depends on the city itself. When we have moved first time to Scotland and also when we came to small cities we have found very distinct feature of Scottish cities, many of them have a long history and the houses were built in sand stone. I think it was due to the rough and cold weather here. The rough windy weather requires strong and warm houses. Many of buildings here have fireplaces and people even now love to heat their houses with wood, of course, houses have heating system with gas or electric but still it is great to have the real fire and have evening just in front of fire.

Here are I few pictures so that you have an impression how such little cities look like.

Even the governmental buildings are also made from sand stone, although it might look grey when it is cloudy and rainy but the walls do not need to be painted, and also colour normally need to be refreshed regularly but natural stones do not need which is good from financial point of view but also it looks like in time travel especially when the cities have some old traditional holidays.

For me this type of building is better, when some of the stones are slightly worn off, see this church, hope you agree with me

This is the old street and on right side of the photo cobble stones, unfortunately there is normal modern tiles. Still it has its own old style city. I hope you like this journey into old time.

I see what you mean :) Old towns, especially those with significant history like in Scotland, have a unique charm. These little signs of aging give character to the buildings and make them feel like they have a history and life of their own :)

It is something that I noticed from our first visit to Scotland, it is a difference to other parts of Scotland and very special, thanks for visiting my post :)

Congratulations!
