At least two gorillas have been infected with the coronavirus at the San Diego Zoo in California, USA. CNN Online reports this information.

Zoo authorities said this on Monday. They said in a press release that corona symptoms are currently seen in three gorillas at the zoo. They are suspected to have been infected by an asymptomatic zoo worker.

Zoo officials say gorillas live as a family. So all the gorillas in the zoo are thought to have come in contact with the coronavirus.

Zoo authorities say two gorillas have been coughing since last Wednesday. Preliminary tests on Friday identified Corona's presence in the guerrilla group. The National Veterinary Service Laboratory of the U.S. Department of Agriculture yesterday confirmed gorilla corona-positive data.

Zoo authorities said the gorillas were being closely monitored.

Lisa Peterson, executive director of the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, said there are coughs and some abnormalities in infected gorillas. Apart from this, they have no other problem. They have been kept together in quarantine. They are eating well. Zoo authorities are hopeful that they will fully recover.

The San Diego Zoo has been closed to the public since early December last year.

California has become a center of the Corona in the United States. The Corona situation in the state has taken a terrible turn.
