Pencil Drawing Of Our Local Fowl | 100% Graphite

Hello steemians and my fellow artist/creative minds in @worldofxpilar how is the weather over there? Happy new year. I'm back with something new. This year is gonna be great. I got a lot to share with you. Stay tuned.

Okay let me get down to the business of the day. I'm here to present my most recent realistic graphite pencil portrait of my recent personal piece I did for myself.
The drawing is one of my best portrait of domestic bird.
I took my time and sat down to draw our favorite poultry which we use for meat.
There's this interesting facts I just found out about chickens that really blew my mind. One, chickens can see colors that humans can't, including ultraviolet light, which is the color you see under a black light.
Two, chickens experience rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, which means they dream.
There are so many facts. I just love this two.

Here are the steps on how I did the portrait. I made my sketch then started shading it gradually. Starting from the eyes, hair down to her face and to the whole work which includes the legs, body and tail feathers
I made sure I did a very good detailing for a clean finishing.
