One of the greatest examples of brand building in a shared universe is – in my opinion – TLC and Sharp Entertainment’s deliciously entertaining reality-show 𝟵𝟬 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲.
What started out as a guilty pleasure about US citizens rushing into marriage so that their foreign partners can stay in America, evolved into a ratings titan spanning 26 (!!!) spin-offs and otherwise related shows.
The 𝟵𝟬𝗗𝗙 universe is expanding so fast and wide, Warner Bros. Discovery could almost fill an entirely separate streaming platform with the content.
The phenomenon proves to me beyond a shadow of a doubt that with an exciting, accessible High-Concept pitch as a starting point, the possibilities for exponential growth are virtually limitless.
Not every shared universe has to involve superheroes or jedis.
