Ridley Scott, Nicole Holofcener, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Adam Driver and Jodie Comer serve up a brutal reverse analogy of the #MeToo discourse, narratively structured in the vein of 𝗥𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗻 (𝟭𝟵𝟱𝟬).
The Rashomon Effect in this particular story however, is that ALL versions of events are devastating for the female counterpart – it’s just the extent of horridness that varies.
Essential cinema.
Unfortunately, audiences largely ignored 𝗧𝗟𝗗 during its theatrical run.
I sincerely hope that The Walt Disney Company – which now owns 20th Century Studios where the production was originally set up – will give this film the prominent platform it deserves on Disney+.
