I think ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ด ๐ฆ๐ต๐ผ๐ฟ๐ is a truly phenomenal film, but my problem is that I donโt like ANY of the real-life characters portrayed in itโฆ
There is no โSave the Cat!โ element.
The bottom line is that everyone is out to make as much money as possible at the expense of less fortunate people โ after all, that is the essence of going short.
When the film ends, the clever finance-cowboys who predicted the economic meltdown all get rich but they feel oooh sooo bad about itโฆ
Crying all the way to the bank, as Liberace would say.
I find it difficult to root for hypocritical hedge-fund guys. Say about ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐ช๐ผ๐น๐ณ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ช๐ฎ๐น๐น ๐ฆ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ (๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฏ) what you will โ definitely no cats being saved in that film โ but at least Jordan Belfort owned up to being a soulless money-grubber.
Neverthelessโฆ
Seek it out & get your fix.
