The fire hose is one of the most important pieces of firefighting equipment.
This hose is made to withstand water under high pressure from 8 to 20 bar.
At both ends of the hose there is a connection through which it can be connected to a hydrant, fire truck, suction pump (in case of flood) or to connect two hoses.

Until the middle of the 19th century, we primitively put out fires with buckets that would be filled with hand pumps.
It was not until the late 1960s and early 1970s that fire hoses began to be used.
In the beginning, they were 15 meters long, made of goat and sewn like boots. This allowed for better fire control although they could not withstand excessive water pressure at first.

Fires are extinguished in various and harsh terrains, so they must be flexible, tough and at the same time strong so that they cannot be punctured. Since their appearance, various materials have often been tried and tested.
Today they are much improved with new materials and the construction of the hose itself.

Today’s fire hoses are usually built from woven nylon fabrics and various types of tires. They differ in weight, length, purpose and use.
