Photographing a potter wasp on my backyard.

Hello everyone!
I started to take photos recently, I used to take photos with my Nikon DSLR camera, but I only took photos on occasion, Yesterday I was bored so I took the camera and tried to take some photos of birds, but my lens is a kit lens with 18 to 55 mm. it is good to take portraits and landscape but it is not good enough to take photos of birds, to take a photo of birds I need tele lens, and if I want to take macro photos I need a separate lens too, Even though I tried both, but I can't zoom in much to take photos of the birds, but I managed to take some good macro shots.

It was very hard to get close-up shots, I spooked some of the wasps before taking this photo, so I waited patiently for them to return and they actually came back, I was very careful this time and tried not to spook them.

I thin I did a pretty good job at not spooking them, I was a little confused by the tools at first, I know how ISO, shutter speed, and aperture worked before. but since it's been some time, I had very small ideas about them, so I called my friend who is a good photographer for some advice and he told me everything about settings.

I took these photos in manual mode, the exposure was very high at first but I increased the shutter speed to match the lighting I was getting.

I didn't know what insect it was, but I was sure it is a species if wasp, but I didn't know its name, so I used the google image search to find its name, the name of this wasp is Potter wasp. the reason behind its name is that it makes its home out of clay. you can see them on trees, they make this small pot shape home with a small hole at the top with clay.

I am still exploring the settings of the camera, and there are lots of insects and small animals chilling around our backyard, If I find anything interesting, ill post it in the #WOX community.
