"Gongga Mountain" means "the highest snow mountain" in Tibetan and is located between Kangding, Luding, Shimian and Jiulong counties in Sichuan Province. The main peak of Gongga is 7556 meters above sea level, and is known as the "king of Shushan". Around the main peak of Gongga, there are 145 ice peaks of five to six kilometers above sea level, forming a magnificent scene surrounded by peaks and snow-capped mountains.
Gongga is an internationally renowned alpine adventure and climbing holy site, but Gongga Mountain is also the most difficult to conquer large-scale and extremely high mountain. Its climbing difficulty is far greater than that of Mount Everest, so the climbing mortality rate far exceeds 14% of Mount Everest. And 30% of K2 peak, second only to Meili Snow Mountain.
There are more than 10 plateau lakes in the Gongga Mountain Scenic Area, the famous ones are Mugecuo, Wuxu Sea, Renzhonghai, Bawang Sea, etc. The lake water is clear and transparent, maintaining the original and beautiful natural style. In addition, there are also Tibetan Buddhist temples such as Gongga Temple and Tagong Temple in the Gongga Scenic Area, with rich and colorful ethnic customs such as Tibetans and Yi nationalities.
