In Appreciation of the SMALL Things in Life!

'Tis the season...

In most parts of the world, we are in the season of joy and celebration. This is a beautiful thing, and there is much to be grateful for!

Generosity and gift giving are definitely part of the picture for many people, but it's also important to not get too caught up in the ever-present cycle of commercialism that seems to drive our world.

Let us remember that many of the best and most important things we have are actually not "things," at all.

Friendship. Connection. Love. Compassion. Empathy. Kindness.

You cannot place a monetary value on those.

Let us also remember that this time of the year is not just about the gift giving, but also about having gratitude for what is; for what we already have.

Could be something as fundamental as a roof over our head. Or our good health.

It can be all too easy to take the small things in life for granted, because they seem to just always be there. But what if they were not? What sort of pickle would we be in, then?

Gratitude and appreciation matter!

The holidays are often referred to as "the season of giving," but it might be worthy to also simply pause and have gratitude for what we already have.
