Hello dear Steemians and Art Fans,

 

Welcome to WOX Visual Art challenge and we are heading towards Week-4.

This time we decided to give YOU, Steemians to decide what still you choose, what medium you take and how you want to express yourself.

It is about expressing various Sensory experiences by the previously indicated means and transforming them into Visual plastic expressions.

 

The Jury of the Challenge

 

@arcoiris or Juan González-Gallego Espinosa is a Watercolourist from Daimiel. It is located in the western part of La Mancha, the so-called "Wet-Mancha", around the upper course of the Guadiana river. As a student of the local expressionist painter D. Juan D'Opazo since he was 10 years old, attending his classes almost daily, until he was 18, learning the trade in an artisanal way.

Her training was also influenced by Germán Romero, a sculptor with extensive academic training. Night classes in artistic drawing at the School of Arts and Crafts in Ciudad Real with Professor Calatayud, while doing Teaching at the Pedro Pooveda School in Ciudad Real.

He is a retired teacher who dedicated his all life to Art, but also he did professional photography, worked in advertising, illustration and editorial design for various publications. He had numerous exhibitions and awards.

The Message and Task for Participants from @arcoiris:

Hello to all of the participants,

The challenge that I would propose would be about abstraction as a form of Pictorial expression.

• You can use any type of paint (watercolours, tempera, acrylics, waxes, markers, inks and bleach, mixed techniques, etc. etc.). I don't want anything figurative, neither still life, nor landscapes, only stains, brushstrokes, textures and harmonies or color dissonances. *

Specifically, transform flavors into pictorial abstractions. Transform sounds into abstractions and the same with smells.

We will take a sheet of cardboard type paper and divide it into four parts, as it is in the photo. It is to do four exercises.
 

 

• Exercise 1 and Box 1.

Take a chocolate bonbon or a piece of a chocolate bar, put it in your mouth and taste it. Then with colors, spots, lines, try to capture the flavor of chocolate through an abstract painting in box 1. Try not to get out of the box.

• Exercise 2 and Box2:

Try to taste with the tip of your tongue a little cayenne, or chili, or wasabi, or chilli, or some other spicy product, and paint another abstraction of that spicy flavor.

• Exercise 3 and Box3:

Switch on your favourite music or the music of a waltz while it is playing try to follow the cadences of said waltz and represent in abstract painting.

• Exercise 4 and Box4:

choose your perfume or any cologne, or a toilet soap. Smell it with your eyes closed and paint what it suggests, paint and briefly smell it; like this over and over again until you finish the abstract painting.

 

The Goal is Pictorial Representation of 4 senses
 

To capture the sense of abstraction. It is about seeing what is entering us through:

• Taste
• Hearing or
• Smell.

We hope you can be motivated by the works of some abstract artists, view them but NOT copy them.
