The idea of the Steem lottery was to be able to support @wox-helpfund.
So far we have had 34 lotteries with very little participation.
I would like to thank all participants who have supported the lottery.
If anyone has any ideas to make the lottery more popular so we can support @wox-helpfund, I will consider starting the Steem lottery again

Maybe the problem in general is that engagement on Steemit is rather low. A lot of people just "post and run," rather than interact with content.
I think the community would benefit from having something like the old "Engagement and Curation Leagues" start up again.

Yes, many people only post today to get the most rewards possible and not many people comment on posts either.
I have to say that I miss a bit of the old steem/steemit that was before the split with Hive. The various Competitions that I had at the time attracted many participants and comments.

The game is fun, but after a while it gets boring and is still impersonal. Engagement is difficult like this. People like contests where they can express their creativity, maybe a special contest could be dedicated to the fund. For example the contest post and the entry posts give each 10% to the fund...

Yes, that's a good idea. We considered such an option. One of the downsides of this is that there is one Steemit team rule that does not recommend asking contest participants for beneficiary rewards. Therefore, the curators would be forced to remind us about it all the time. But this is still an option that we will consider.
