Hello bookworms!

Thank you @thesteemlibrary for yet another amazing contest! Let's get into my last three reads!

Book 1: The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware

"Because it was the lies that got me here in the first place. And I have to believe that it’s the truth that will get me out."

This book not only aims to serve the readers a good suspense but also spook them out with the mysterious setting and the classic haunted house trope! Look out for a poison garden too! There's no exaggeration when I say that the fear kept me wide awake at night and even the slightest sound would alert me...all thanks to the brilliant storytelling by Ruth Ware. Towards the end, the book takes an unexpected turn and a revelation occurs that one could never imagine.

I should also mention that the book has some eerie elements too. While we know there is a haunted house, there is a strange modern take to it - a house that runs on technology and apps! Ware manages to describe the entire ambiance so well that you feel you know every inch of the house!

I just not recommend but highly recommend all mystery buffs to give it a read!

Book 2: Project Illuminae by Marium Zara

"I live in this meliorism
that things will change,
You will come,
And spring will rain."

Marium Zara is probably my second or third Pakistani author and I must say, I am impressed. Poetry is not an easy job as it required you to master playing around with words such that it leaves room for interpretation too.

Project illuminae endeavours to help one find light and hope in the times of grief and despair. I can say for sure that we all must have felt the emotions described at some point in the book, which helps the reader connect with Zara immediately.

Book 3: The Switch by Beth O’Leary

"You were healing. You’re still healing. You’ll maybe always be healing. And that’s OK. It’ll just be part of what makes you you."

If you are in search of a witty, hilarious and meaningful novel then stop right here because you have reached your destination. The celebrated author of The Flatshare is back with another brilliantly narrated story.

Who doesn’t love a smart grandma who can become everyone’s favourite within minutes? While our Grandma Eileen is on a journey to find love (yes, at this age) and simply enjoy life, Granddaughter Leena, who is exhausted of her work and personal life, suggests a switch. Eileen living Leena’s city life and Leena moving to her town!

O’Leary gives you a different perspective about living - the one that’s screaming YOLO and teaches you how to make the most out of every single breath you take.

P.S: Bonus points for a charming male lead! 😅
