Hello Everyone!
As we continue to promote Steem and sign up new users, it is time to provide them with simple tutorials on how to use some of the tools.
It wasn't easy for me at first, but with the help of my mentee @njaywan, I've gained a lot of experience in the Steem industry.
Today I will be explaining is simple terms what the following means and how they work:
- VOTE WEIGHT
- VOTING MANNER
- VOTE VALUE
This feature is typically available to steemians with approximately 500 Steem powers; it allows them to control the percentage of vote mana they should use during up voting. Essentially, it resembles a bar with a button that can be dragged left or right to increase or decrease the percentages, this also aids in the management of your voting mana.
This is typically the strength you have on Steemit to up vote someone, each up vote done with a full 100% voting weight causes a voter to lose 2% of his/her voting mana, the system is designed in such a way that your voting mana used is replaced only 20% a day, which means that if you up vote about 40 people with a 100% voting weight, your voting manner decreases by 2% for each u vote, since the system is designed in such a way that your voting mana can be replenished at a rate of 20% per day, so after the 40 up vote, you will use 80% of your voting mana, and it will take 4 days to regain 100% mana, IE ( 4 X 20% = 80% ). One thing to keep in mind is that as your voting mana deteriorates, so does your vote value.
It is usually a circular bar that represents your vote amount at a specific voting weight. For example, if you have 11000 SP at a voting mana of 100%, and your 100% voting weight gives you an up vote of $1, when you up vote someone with 100% voting weight, your voting mana will decrease by 2%, meaning you will be left with 98% land this will reduce the amount in value of your vote at 100% voting weight.
There are different amount values at different voting mana percentage and vote weight, you can reduce the voting weight per up vote to avoid overusing your voting mana which is replenished 20 percent per day.
This is the amount in Steem or SBD that an author receives after you up vote them, so when you select a post to vote for and after manipulating your voting weight, the amount in Steem and SBD/TRX that the author receives is term vote value.
In conclusion, I wish you all the best in your Steemit journey and I call upon the country reps @njaywan, @oppongk to correct me if there is a mistake as well as help me by answering some of the questions in the comment session of this post.
