People born early enough and utilizing the internet for the previous 25 years have witnessed the evolution of our contact with the internet and the changes that have occurred through time. Slowly, it has permeated every area of our life, and the internet has become both an addiction and a need. The current stage of the internet that we are seeing is the web 3. As I previously stated, some of you have also experienced web 1 and web 2, but a large portion of the younger population has not experienced the earlier tiers and may believe that it has always been this way.

So today I'll go over the three tiers in brief: web 1, web 2, and web 3.

Web 1

This was in the mid-1990s, before Google was established. This was before to video streaming and social networking. Alta Vista and Netscape used to rule the internet. It was a period when the internet was only for reading. The majority of information could only be searched and read.

Web 2

Web 2 is when we learned to read and write. As a result, we were able to add our content to websites rather than simply being onlookers. It debuted in 2003 and had a significant influence on online marketing and commerce. We could now review things on websites and leave comments on Instagram photos. This had a significant impact on our internet purchase because we could receive comments on the goods we wanted to purchase.

Web 3

This is when the internet truly became sentient. You may test this by interacting with the internet. It will show you stuff depending on your interests, which are reflected in what you look for and use the internet for most of the time. The internet may now be utilized in conjunction with algorithms to better understand you. It can now track your movements, decisions, friends, likes and dislikes, where you like to eat, what you prefer to eat outside, and so much more.

Semantic web

It indicates that the web can process data based on instructions. Intelligent machines now do data analyses, allowing for seamless connection between man and machine. What is the difference between 'I adore BCH' and '1 BCH'? The syntax in this situation may change, but the meanings of the two phrases are the same. The semantics of these two statements reflect the feeling of the facts. Both of these statements communicate the same feeling and meaning. Semantics combined with artificial intelligence offers enormous promise for utilizing the data created on the internet.

Ai, also known as machine intelligence or machine learning, has significantly greater potential in terms of data analysis than humans. It can filter massive amounts of data and deliver it in the format we want. For example, the movie review website Rotten Tomatoes collects user comments on a film and presents it to us in several categories of like, making it easier for us to pick. Ai can even evaluate when a large group of people gather to review a movie with the purpose to deliberately favor or detest it. It can filter out such cases and provide trustworthy feedback.

Web 3 transitioned from 2D to 3D, allowing for online gaming, architecture design, and medical science, to mention a few applications. The game business is now worth billions of dollars, thanks to realistic 3D visuals. Previously, our email address served as our online identity, but in the future, we will construct our 3D identity.

Omnipresent
We are everywhere online using web 3 interactivity. When I publish my piece on the internet, it becomes open to everyone, and anybody can communicate with me from anywhere. In other words, I am available anywhere. Similarly, from the comfort of my own home, I can have a video chat with anyone in the globe, regardless of nationality.

Web3 Advantages-

• greater interactivity and connectivity

• A smooth searching and browsing experience

• efficient communication with the AI

Disadvantages-

• Older devices may have difficulty communicating with Web3 until they are updated.

• It may be tough for newcomers to comprehend and interact.

Metamask is the most popular web 3 wallet in modern crypto world, and it provides a seamless experience while interacting with various dapps. Dr. Gavin Wood established the web3 foundation. We all know that he was a co-founder of Ethereum and, subsequently, Polkadot. Polkadot, Kusama Canary network, cross chain message passing, and web3 MOOC are among the projects of the web 3 foundation, which also hosts an annual web3 summit.
