Upon the extension and several methods through which the government have put forward in other for all to register their SIM cards, still not all have been able to register.

As a result the government has started blocking SIM cards that have not been registered. This has drawn the attention of many to the fact that what actually happens to the mobile money account after the SIM card has been blocked.

Those who have not yet registered their MTN sim cards, it is more likely they that you might have your calls been blocked, SMS been blocked, and finally your SIM will as well be blocked. when this happens, your sim might be in the phone but it will not show there is SIM card and you can't use it for anything.

The inability of an individual to access any of the details of the SIM cards that are blocked is what is causing the problems in the ears of many most especially those who outside the boundaries of this country. Because they are not in the country, they have not been able to secure a Ghana card talkless have access to register their SIMs.

Even though there was an app for each individual to register their sim, because there is no Ghana card available for these individuals, they can not do the registration because the Ghana card is the only valid documents for the registration.

What happens to the mobile money account after sim is blocked?

This is one of the frequently asked questions when you visit any of the network providing centers where customer have their some blocked. And below is what the network providers say,

If your SIM card is been blocked as a result of failure to register your SIM, then you have no cause for alarm. It is believed that your account is safe and secure for some time. However after a long period of still not registering your SIM the chanced of you Lossing everything will be way way high.

Therefore if you SIM is blocked for not registering with your Ghana card, then you should try dialing the short code *170# and check if you can still access your account. it is highly possible it will work. However, if it doesn't work, then I believe you should give yourself sometime and try later.

I will also take advantage and advise you to register as quickly as possible in other to avoid you Lossing your money. I will personally say if you do not have the Ghana card then try and reach out for one. Mostly those outside the country should try and use the online form to register rather than coming here if not for any other reasons.

You are about right. it is therefore important to register it.

A friend of mine had her B-cap not showing up and it became a whole issue, we were so worried about her money on her wallet but it turns out you can use the MTN app to get that sorted out. Thanks for education bro

Yes is true, for now you are allowed to do that but in the subsequent months it will be more difficult to be able to it.

Thanks

I’ve definitely been there with a blocked SIM! Last year while traveling in Europe, my SIM got blocked just when I needed to send some mobile money to a friend. It was such a hassle! I was panicking a bit because I had some important payments to make. Thankfully, I remembered I could access my mobile banking app through Wi-Fi, so I managed to get everything sorted.

After that experience, I decided to switch to an eSIM Europe for my next trip. It was a game-changer! No more worrying about SIM cards getting blocked or losing them. Just activate it and you’re good to go!
