Ghana is one of the countries with rich history. Anytime you talk about Africa's independence and her liberation from colonial rule, the country called Ghana comes to mind.

The month of July is very significant in the history of our dear country which happens to be the month Ghana became a republic. Ghana boast of numerous people with different ethnic and religious backgrounds and we have coexisted for years without war.

  • Aside these great attributes, every community or town in this great nation has it's own rich history.
  • especially when it comes to migration route because most communities fled because of war and search for food and water.
  • Cultural practice which went on back in the days and outmoded Cultural that has been taken away.
  • The generational occupation that has been passed on to the younger generation and those on born. Example place like Bonnwire is known for Kente. It's a generation occupation for those there.
  • Language spoken
  • And some of the beautiful tour sites we have as a result of nature and colonization.

About The Contest

So this week, we want people in Ghana and around the world to tell us the rich history of their hometown not their country.
  • Their migrated route
  • What caused them to move to their current location
  • Cultural practice known to that town( whether primitive or whether it is still being practice)
  • You can share the effects ( good and bad) of these cultural practices and why you think it's better to expunge them.
  • Tell us a bit about the local language spoken, occupation and some beautiful places you wish to invite tourists to come and experience.

Unfortunately, Poland is quite monocultural, which is the direct effect of the II World War when almost all the minorities were killed in the Concentration Camps by Nazis. People in my town do speak the same language, eat the same things, wear the same clothes and have the same traditions as the others around. I have found another way to share the rich history of my homeplace though and I decided to share with you all the oldest legends related to the name of the town. If it is against the rules, it's okay. I enjoyed sharing it with the community anyway :)

Those entering the contest please it's not about history of our tribes (example Ashanti's or Ewe's) but the history behind our towns and how there were formed. Example, I am from Kunsu and it is believed my people came out from a hole on the ground. It was a hunter who saw them so those who were able to come out form the town and this who remained in the hole because of fear are no where to be found. They fled because of war and as at now there is no queen mother because she was part of those who went back. This is the kind of submission, I am looking for. So you can come again if you have already submitted
