Beautiful Day With My Mum 13th March, 2021

Family is beautiful and it's becomes special when you have the love of a mother. My dad was cool and reserved man who was loved by many because of his generosity and his will to serve people holistically.

One thing he said that still rings a bell was that " every elderly person must act like a fool sometimes". When I was young, I really didn't understand what he meant. So he continued, when you have younger siblings, you shouldn't complain about anything but sometimes, you keep mute and observe. When they step on your toes, for peace and love sake don't retaliate but rather love them and at the end they are going to love you more. Hmm my initial reaction was that, they will see me as weak but he was right anyway. I had step siblings and we sometimes didn't see eye to eye but now we are solid than before.

My mum, a lovely woman who would put her life on the line for me. I remember for four years, she never bought something new. Her only concern was to see me complete University. She's the first to call me every Monday morning to bless me before I go to work and the last person to call me every Friday evening to know how my week went.

I love her for her courage and how she's able to make things happen even in the worst moments. She also told me that "in your worst moment, Hope should be your last option". You should never lose hope.
I can go on and on to say a lot of things. When I was very little, hot water poured on me and she had to take me to hospital. It was around Christmas and during this season, getting access to vehicle is very difficult so in the hustle of straggling for space in the car, someone pushed her and the way she managed to save me from falling was spectacular. Though I didn't see this event but I have been told on countless times by eyewitnesses.

This morning, I took time to go and pay her a visit. When I got there, she was ready for some keep fit organised by leading opposition party in the country. She love politics too and holds a position as the deputy women's organizer at the constituency level of Ghana's politics on the ticket of NDC.

I will live to have her as a mother in my next life if there is any. Currently she's back and preparing my favorite meals for me. Today I celebrate her for the tremendous efforts and sacrifices made towards the total well-being of my life. What I wish for you this morning is long life and good health.
