Betterlife with Steem, Ghanaian Folktales: How wisdom came to be amongst Us (01/02/2021)

A long time ago, at beginning of creation lived humans amongst all creations including animals. We all lived peaceful and co-existed naturally without any fights whatsoever. Living amongst his creations was God, "Nana Nyankopon" as we humans called him. God had a pot which was full of wisdom and he gave this pot to Kweku Ananse the craft Spider because he exhibited such intelligence in everything he did that "Nana Nyankopon" believed that it would improve his creativity and help humans and all of his creations.

And so Ananse the spider was given the pot and hence forth he started coming up with genius ideas and creativity, he made fire and he made carriages he made a whole lot of things but then anytime he creates something new and Nana Nyankopon ask him to share his knowledge with the rest of the world he would decline saying that the rest of his creations are lazy and are not using their minds as he is doing and so eventually "Nana Nyankopon" got fed with with his attitude and asked that the pot be returned but Kweku lied that he had hide it and will not give it back nor help the world.

Later when Nana Nyankopon left he took the pot and decided to go hide it in the forest where no one will ever find, on his journey he walked for miles without anything coming in sight worthy of hiding the pot, eventually he got tired and came to a river which was deep and steep such that it was likely he would drown if he fell in or the pot may even be carried away or break he stood there thinking of how to get some of water to drink until a kid came by and using ropes drew some water from the river with his own pot. Ananse was astonished. Later Ananse came across a big tree where he believe he could hide it but then as tried climbing the tree with the pot it did not work until the kid came along again and gave him the idea of tying pot to his back which worked.

And so Ananse decided that humans even without the pot of wisdom were this wise enough to have helped him on his journey and it even turned out to be a kid meaning if the world had the pot of wisdom great things would be achieved. And so Ananse broke the pot allowing wisdom to roam freely amongst all of God's creation. And so that was how wisdom came to be amongst us bringing about creativity and many wonderful things.
