The Beauty of Life

As a midwife i get to see newborn babies on a regular and even after doing this job for quite a while, one would expect me to get used to this but it never gets old and you never get used to the beautiful smiles and cry of that innocent baby who just came to earth.

One moment the mother is in severe pain, shouting and wishing all sorts of things she probably doesn't truly mean them, some say all sorts of things to their husbands as a result of the pain etc and then the next moment she is beaming with smiles, joy, happiness that knows no bounds.

That is the beauty of life, the enigma that guides life, the fact that life can turn within the twinkle of an eye, the fact that one cannot truly grasp what goes on and about life, the fact that everything and everyone is different and that scientist always get to discover something new almost everyday when they put their minds and tests to it.

The beauty of life lies in the small things, the small efforts, the works we do, the sacrifices we undergo, the love we show others and the pain we inflict and get inflicted with. There beauty in the healing process and there is love in the beauty itself. Don't look further for goodness, for the grass is greener at your feet.

The beauty of life indeed...
