Two Days Capacity Building Training By Activista Ghana.

I'm privileges to be part of some district executives of Activista Ghana selected to undergo a two day capacity training workshop. Activista Ghana is a youth group launch in 2016 by ActionAid to build the capacity of the youth in activism, advocacy, Human rights based issues etc. In addition, it seeks to eradicate poverty and injustices which the youth and women are the most vulnerable to these problems.

Activista Ghana is a non-religious, non-descriminatory,non-tribal,non-partisan, non-profit making group that has a mission of working with poor and excluded persons in the society to eradicate poverty, inequality and injustice. The event was packed with a lot of activities that got every participant involved.

The capacity training had group presentation sections, concept note development section, proposal writing etc. Participants were taking through what it takes to form a group right from ideation stage to execution stage as well as the dynamics in a group that needs to be known by every leader. Groups were tasked to brainstorm and come and present on their findings some leadership qualities needed for activism and advocacy.

Participants were further taking through group facilitation process as well as how to execute their action plans effectively. The training came to and end with the burning desire of being the change agent one wishes to see in his or her society. Hopefully this would not be a mere rhetoric but would be put to actions.
