The Diary Game: My brothers Wedding || 19-06-2021

I had to travel from Takoradi to Accra because of my brother's wedding which is on Saturday, 19/06/2021.

Saturday activies started early. I was up already at 4am, helping to pack the dowry packages into the car before I could think of showering and brushing my teeth. I also prepped the car for the role it will play today. We just had to make sure everything was intact as the day and the ceremonies at hand calls for flawlessness. It was was also very demanding yesterday. I am exhausted for today since I was only able to sleep for less than 3 hours as I was also incharge of logistics so I had to make sure family members travelling from afar for the wedding got a place to sleep.

At 6:00am, we set out to go get ready for the traditional marriage which was set to happen at 7:00am. As we got there, everybody seemed to be very busy. Food was cooking and the chairs were being arranged for the program so we had to wait until 9:00 am before the ceremony commenced. Our clan leader was late for the ceremony so I was replaced to stand in his place given out the knocking fees and the dowry with all it came with once it was called for.

The groom came in looking handsome in his kente and so was the bribe so beautiful and charming. The MC was so hilarious and she was on point too. The next hour was spend on the traditional marriage and at 1pm shatp, we had to be at the Catholic church for the church ceremony.

There was a lot of ceremonial performances and preaching of the word by the young Priest(father). He quoted from the bible and the apocryphal the essence of marriage and the need for forgiveness, patience, tolerance and unity in marriage. In my opinion, those words if observed will build as strong and healthy family.

Honestly, I almost dozed off at church but i had to stand my ground and stay alert until the end since I was so exhausted from moving up and down to get things in guests. People cheered and shouted with joy for the ceremony

Church closed and the rest was left fornthe pictures to be taken. From here, the program continues so we had to go back for the after party.

It was all happiness and smiles. After the program, i got home at 9pm. This is how my day went.
