Eid Teaches Us To Be Kind

Dear all,

One big misconception most people tend to have is that the Eid ul Adha is a festival for sharing meat since we see a lot of people slaughtering all kinds of animals. But this is only to commemorate the sacrifice that was done by Abraham a while ago.

But after the sacrifice is made, the most important thing is to make sure we share them according to the required recipients. We are to divide the meat into three parts; give one to our neighbours, one for charity, and the third for ourselves.

This ensures that everyone gets a taste of the meat and is not left out. Even in large cities, some of the mosques invite people to come for large portions of meat.

This is not just for the meat but to teach us a very important lesson in life. And that has to do with sharing with your community.

We are taught that even if we bought something with the sweat of our labour, we are still entitled to give part of it to the society within which we belong. That way, we can give back to our community.

Happy Eid Ul Adha To Everyone.
