The Story About About A Ghanaian Movie I have Watched Narrated By @imuniru38

To start with, I’ll like to thank @rubilu123 for setting up this contest and also, a big one to Steem Ghana, for making it available in this great community. The Ghanaian movie I’ll like to talk about is title, Amakye and Dede.

Amakye and Dede is a Ghanaian comedy and romantic movie released in 2016. It was directed by Kofi Asamoah, it involved Mjid Micheal, Kalybos (the only bos with one “s”) and as the main characters. Playing the role of Dede and Amakye respectively. The story of the movie is about two best friends how lived together their whole life, went to school together, grew up together and had the same jobs as mechanics in the same place together, falling in love with the same lady (Ahoufi Patri) and have to now play the game of who gets the girl first at the expenses of their friendship and brotherhood.

The story starts with Dede meeting a beautiful lady with a car trouble stranded on the road, and decides to give a hand as he knew a lot about car operation working as a mechanic. He and his fried was the best mechanics at their workshop, but Dede was temporally fired at the moment due to some misunderstanding he had with his boss at work. He helped the lady start her car again and directed her to where he woked with his friend to get a proper check up on the car. He though exchanged some pleasantries with the lady, they exchanged contacts and he told the lady that he is a medical doctor just to impress the lady the more as he felt he has a chance with the lady. Dede feeling like he has hit the jackpot at that moment went home with all smiles, knowing little about the competition he has caused with his best friend.

The lady makes her way to the mechanic shop directed to her by Dede. Just then, Dede’s best friend Amakye also sees this epitome of beauty and also falls in love with the girl at that spot. Amakye also wanting to impress the girl, told her that he doesn’t work at the mechanic shop and played as such as long and when she is with the girl. And that he works as the campaign manager of a renowned politician who happens to be a regular client of their shop, thinking the lady would be flattered by his profession, well she was, for a while. Amakye also managed to get the lady’s contact, also thinking he has finally found his soul mate, went home to his friend Dede after work with all smiles too.

The two friends met at home happy as a little girl on Christmas eve, dancing and smiling all along, but they now wanted know what the was all turned up all about. Both of them said they had some really good news, in fact, life changing good news. Amakye had two good news to break actually, so he went on first to break the first one to his friend. He told him that, he has been able pull a few strings with their boss to get him back to the job. They were all excited about the first news given by Amakye, and now it was Dede’s turn to say what he was all excited about. He the starts by telling Amakye that he found the most beautiful lady he has ever seen today, just when he was about to continue, Amakye interrupted and same also, that he also saw the beautiful lady he has ever seen today. They both also said that, they have fallen in love with that lady, they were happy for each other and continued the description of the lady they all saw, and they mentioned that their lady had a car, a red one. Then Dede realized their description of their perfect lady was too similar, he asked Amakye the name of the lady he saw, then he mentioned the same name him Dede also met that day. Then Dede realized they were all talking about the same lady he saw first then directed her to Amakye for her car to be fixed.

They both now where confused on to solve the situation, since none of them wanted to leave the lady of their dreams for the other. Then they all decided they date the lady without her knowing they were friends or knew each other and they should take turns with her and so the first guy to win the lady’s heart back have her. That idea didn’t go on so well as they both were worried the other might actually win the lady’s heart first. So they started plotting evil plans for each other when the other goes out to meet the lady. Dede on one of her dates with the girl told her that he wasn’t really a doctor, he made that up to impress her, and he was actually a mechanic who lost his job the first day he met her. The lady was flattered about Dede being sincere to her. But Amakye on the other hand still went on pretending to be what he told the lady the day they met.

But eventually, the lady found out the two guys she was dating were actually friends, and she felt that she was being played all those while and also found out that Amakye wasn’t the person he told her he was. They both were ashamed of how they were destroying their friendship to impress the lady they all loved. They apologized to each other and got back together. Amakye went on to tell the lady that Dede is whom really deserves her and not himself. And also apologized to her for not being sincere to her from the start. Dede ended up marrying the lady in the future, and Amakye also found his true love, and they all lived happily ever after.

The movie was themed as an Easter movie because it premiered on Easter day and it made hits as the best movie as at then and gaining various awards including the best movie of the year. This movie has my interest because it portrays how sincerity can actually help you in all things that you do and where ever you find yourself. Dede’s sincerity with lady got him the lady. The truth may seem shameful but always be sincere.
