This project seeks to help 7 disabled people in the Obeyeyie community, Amasaman a suburb of Accra by providing them with funds, assistive devices, medical care, and tools that they’ll need to improve their lives.
In this community, a 78-year-old woman’s legs shake and feel like she is going to fall when she stands or walks. She also complains of pain in her heart and other parts of the body when she stands. Due to this, she is unable to walk for more than a minute. She started experiencing this in 2017. She is always at home and no longer engages in any social activity. She has not been to the hospital because of financial problems. We want to give her some money to be able to afford some drugs for her to get better.
There is also a 42-year-old man who was involved in a road traffic accident in 2017. He did not agree to be amputated so he received treatment from a herbalist. He currently has a leg length discrepancy with the right leg longer than the left leg, due to the fracture of the bone in the right thigh. He is currently walking with underarm crutches but limps on his left toes. We want to support him with an amount of money for him to get a shoe raise to make up for the leg length discrepancy.
A 33-year-old man is also very stiff and finds it difficult to move his right hand and both legs. He cannot stand unsupported for more than 20 seconds. He has not been to the hospital due to financial constraints. He has difficulty with speech. He has been experiencing this since 2015. He is currently using a Zimmer frame. He has stopped working due to his condition.
A 1-year-8-months old baby, the 33-year-old man’s daughter is unable to stand, crawl or walk. She crawls with her buttocks. Doctors said she is fine, but she is still unable to stand, walk or crawl. His mother has stopped sending her to the hospital due to financial constraints.
Furthermore, a 48-year-old man has been unable to walk for about 4 years. His whole body shakes when he stands. He manages to walk by supporting himself with walls, tables, and chairs. He has no walking aid. We want to support him by providing an assistive device, to enable him to move from one place to another.
We also identified a 52-year-old woman who said she had a stroke though it has not been diagnosed by a medical doctor. She fell ill in 2020. She has not been to the hospital because she cannot pay her hospital bills. We want to support her by giving her an amount of money to buy drugs.
Finally, a 68-year-old woman is unable to walk because she has been paralyzed for 15 years. She is always at home selling fried sausages and charcoal. She must be carried to and from her room every day. She crawls with her buttocks. We want to support her business by providing a glass set and a small table for her to sell her sausages.

Very pathetic and miserable to find them in these condition. They themselves didn't mean to be in that situation. I'm very sorry to hear that the man stops his work as a result of his condition. I wish to support them too as no one knows his or her future.
