Firstly, investment is an assest or Item purchased with the aim of generating profit or an asset purchased with the goal of being sold at higher cost price for profit.
Actually anyone who engage in any activity such as business related with or sometimes without resource seeks for profit. Therefore what investment means to me on the steemit blockchain is diversified and much more than its definition, has an expectations of incurring profit prior to the time spent and energy input solely on the "proof of brain" philosophy.

Ways we can invest on steemit

One could invest time and energy to carry out task (more like responsibilities to keep and sustain the chain) knowing that time is precious and time is money.

One could invest intellectual resource this includes commenting, creating social and educative content that can yield huge incentives for the creator, the community and the blockchain.

Emotional investment, looking out for others feelings/performance on steemit ecosystem with the idea of building them up through encouragement and upvote. More like groaminng steemians with etiquettes to take up some vital roles for the benefit of the ecosystem.

Self investment/improvement, example dedicating self to learn new skills and strategies to understand crypto academy seasonal class terminologies to earn better rewarding trading benefit.
