Hello Steemians. How are you doing? This post is my contest entry to the Steem Ghana Community’s contest on the anticipation of the community in two to four months, organized by @silencewan. I have been a member of this community for a while, and I believe I can put forth some valid expectations of the community. My points shall be centered on two areas: the diversification of contests and the involvement of more females in the community.
The Steem Ghana Community has grown considerably over months and currently has over thousand eight hundred subscribers. This is indeed a great feat. It is the wish of every community in the Steem ecosystem to grow in numbers and engagements. However, the number of participants in the various contests organized in the Steem Ghana community is extremely low compared to the huge number of subscribers. I believe a probable cause of this low engagement in contests is the nature of the contests themselves. Contests in the community have been frequently been restricted to creative writing, which I know is a good thing because it helps develop the creative writing side of participants. Yet, this is particularly a problem because not every subscriber of the Steem Ghana Community shares an avid interest in creative writing contests.
A sneak peek at other national communities on Steemit indicates that contests can be more than just writing. There can be photography contests, art contests, talent contests, game review contests, movie review contests, and many more. Also, usually three or more distinct contests are rolled out in some communities for the week. There are even 24-hour contests as well as mini-contest where valid entries are as simple as lengthy and relevant comments to the contest post. The multitude and differentiation of these contests attract the attention of various members in the communities as each and everyone at least finds a contest of interest. Hence, for the next months as indicated by this contest, I anticipate more and diverse contests in the Steem Ghana Community to cater to the different interests of the members of this honorable community. This development, I presume, will in turn increase activeness in the community.
Another anticipated aspect of the community in the forthcoming month is the insurgence of female steemians. Steem, admittedly, is currently male-dominated population-wise, but there are lots of rooms for female steemians in the ecosystem too. The number of active female Steemians in the Steem Ghana community has been bumping up lately, and I believe it will skyrocket in the coming months. Furthermore, I look forward to seeing a female moderator and contest organizer in the community. I have a firm conviction that there are able ladies in the community who can be trained and assigned roles in the community, just as was done for the male counterparts. The involvement of ladies in the administration of the community and their high engagement in the community can motivate other female steemians and even draw in more people into the community.
All in all, Steem Ghana is a relatively young community that has demonstrated keen and serious efforts to expand and become the mouthpiece of Steem in Africa and the world at large. This goal is achievable and requires collaborative efforts of all genders as well as innovative and adaptable approaches to problems. Thanks for reading my entry, and I would love to hear your opinion on this issue. Kindly leave a comment below if you have something to share. See you another time.

I agree with you on the point that there should be variation in contest, not only about writing, we can have about three different contest that everyone can take part, my opinion. Thanks for your submission
