High Fuel Prices Is Affecting Our Standard Of Living

My fellow steemians,

It has now become a tradition that the state of the country is determined its current fuel prices. The higher the cost of fuel, the more expensive things are.

Lately, the cost of fuel is through the roof and it is driving the cost of goods and services along with it. Take for instance, sachet water that was previously 20 pesewas is now 30 pesewas. A bag of rice that used to cost 45 cedis is now 60 cedis. This is simply outrageous.

For most people, this is simply too much. Especially for a country whereby there is no job creation and very low level of income.

The saddest part about the whole thing is that, the media paints a picture as if everything is well in this country so that the politicians will look good to the world leaders.

This is simply not cool. The price of petrol is now sitting at 8.4 cedis per litre. This is even after the 20 pesewas reduction in its cost.

Even if they decide to cut down the price by half, the damage has already been done as no shop will reduce their prices any further.

My experience in buying fuel at the fuel station

This is quite an alarming situation and at the moment, those in power do not seem to care. All they want is to fill their pockets with the revenue that is being generated.

I sincerely hope we are able to deal with this situation as our country's debt is almost the same as our GDP. This should tell us that our economy has collapsed and it should be all hands on deck at this point in time. Thank you very much.
