This is a story i heard from an old lady in a village my parents visited on time when i was young, i remember the story because it felt so true at the time when i was so young and now when i remember i just laugh at how ridiculous the whole thing sounds, anyway i hope you enjoy and have some fun time.

And so in the old times when "Nana Nyankopon" (God) had just created the heavens and the earth, the sky was just some few meters way from man the height of say a mango tree or an orange tree and so when man wanted to talk to God it was so easy and in the same vain God was close to man and visited man to provide all our needs. It was even believed that man could cut some of clouds which would turn into meat for them to use in the their food preparations much like how manna fell for the Israelites.

Then as civilization went on there were the Ashantis, these group of individuals came up with a food delicacy popularly known as fufu and the preparation of the food required that cooked cassava and plantain be mixed up by means of pounding with the help of the pistle and the mortar. The first problem this created was the noise of pounding, it made lots of noise in the kingdom of the heavenly thus the sky and disrupted God's proceedings and then there was the issue of raising the pistle to pound which kept hitting the floor of the sky and affecting the heavenly beings.

And so "Nana Nyankopon" could not take it any longer and took his Kingdom and thus the sky further up and up and up to escape this torture until eventually he was so far away from us and the clouds and the sky went way up. And so thus how come the Sky is far from Man.

I am not certain what the moral would be but then let me leave it to my readers to tell me their thoughts on what they believe the moral lesson of the story is. Thanks for reading and have great time

Oh man, I really like this one too @nattybongo 😋. I used to think that Nana Nyankopon would be so close to us had it not been for the "over raising" of a pistol during the pounding of fufu.

Nice tale from you bro.

Wow!, I really admire this story when ever it is being told in the evening after we finish eating surrounded by friend in our neighborhood. Now, due to schooling and marriage have separated apart we don't meet to narrate those stories again. My pleasure to here this story again. Thanks!👍
