MY TOWN IN TEN PICS : 6TH MARCH, 2022 : PAGA ROAD, NAVRONGO

Greetings everyone,

It was the independence day in Ghana which is observed every 6th of March. On this occasion, it fell on a weekend so the following Monday is bound to be a holiday.

I found myself on the Paga road today going to visit a friend of mine. This area is also quite a marketable area since it is a well known community that shares boundaries with Burkina Faso at the North.

While here, I captured some moments which I will be sharing with you in this edition.

Motorbike Selling Area

Motorbikes are hotcakes here and because of this, there are numerous motor vendors out here looking to make some good sales. Since they are in high demand than cars in this part of the country, their prices are also on the rise in the daily basis. A brand new haojue 110-6 goes for 7,200 cedis (3,364 steem).

Alcoholic beverages are a big market in this community as a result many companies come here to supply the beer bars and shops here. They also have a big depot here as well. The average cost of a medium sized bottle of a drink is 7 cedis (3.27 steem).

In the main market center, you will find some good quality bicycles such as these ones on display that are going for cool prices. School going kinds are the prime targets for this market since they use it to make their journey to school. A good bike can be purchased for 400 cedis (186 steem).

Church Of Christ on Paga Road

The church of christ is one of the big denominations here in the Upper East Region. They take their worship and prayer very seriously. Here is one of their branches where they gather and pray in congregation.

Here in Navrongo, people like to have fun a lot. As such, you will see a number of restaurants, eateries and beer bars around. One of such hangout places can be seen here. For a good time at these places, you could budget 50 cedis (23 steem) for some fun.

The police is responsible for guarding our community and ensuring that it is safe at all times. This is why they have intensified their work and have renovated the station. Now, they work round the clock to ensure road safety and are always available for emergencies.

Scraps is a good business here. This refers to broken down pieces of metals that is about to be recycled into another thing. If you want to make some money and also help recycle metal, you could bring some metals here and sell to them.

In every society, there are the unscrupulous ones who have made it their priority to make life a living hell for us. These people must be stopped for us to live peacefully here. This is why there are prison sites like this to help punish offenders.

There are various shops where you can find some simple goods you might be looking for. It is less common to come across a big supermarket so the business minded individuals have opened shops like these to help their communities find such goods while earning some cool profit.
