To every thing in the World demands the use of human effort, support and decision to be able to do it. We sometimes make mistakes by saying that "Moneyπ°" does everything. But, is through who's effort do we get money? The question boils down to via humans effort. The building of blockchain per say is chains of members interconnected and bonded as unit to strengthen the ecosystem. So when the blocks of chains made of members breaks, it means it would be affected by efficiency since the number would definitely reduce.
Talking about retention & recruitment as a way of strengthening the blockchain
Retention & recruitment have already been discussed severally on Steem Blockchain, but I think from time to time we need to revisit it to remind members how important these two elements are for steem blockchain. Recruitment means stocking of new members in a community, while retention means the continuous absorbing of members in a group or Community. The two should be simultaneously work together, since some members in the community would leave due to maybe their personal emotions, where we need to recruit to fill the gabs. On the other hand, we need to use diverse strategies to retain the members in the community. Because, it's human nature that weakness, loss of hope, tiredness, emotional trauma, sickness, lack of motivation, lack of commitment and many other negativities are setbacks that may pull some of the members to redraw their services from the community.
So, engagement in Steem should never be ceased to happen, we should therefore focus engage each to support the various Community engagement. If all elements are working well with Steem and our membership declines, it means the required output we anticipate would not be great as expected. While looking at the club5050, club75 and club100 being the best way to build Steem Economy in terms of income to Support Steem, we should also foster the growth of members and their retention in the Steem Ecosystem. In this case, we would definitely see all sectors working Effectively. For instance, in a class of 30 students, 10 members are above average, while 20 members are below average. The teacher decides to pay more attention to the average students since they are good while neglecting the less average students. In the exams, comparing the percentage % pass, we realized that about 70% failed they form the less average students, while only 30% pass they form the average students. This happened due the attention given to one side while neglecting the other side.
Retaining & Recruiting to bring more impact on Steem, let's all help.
This is the right time to talk about retention and recruitment in Steem since club5050, club75 and club100 have come to support all Newbies for their stay in Steem. The ability to comply and be committed to any of the above clubs ( club5050, club75 and club100) means a great chance to win Upvotes. You should remember that more emphasis and great support is given to members who support club75 and club100 with the recent update of @steemitblog. The fact is that, most Newbies are in hurry to see huge miracle of upvotes, but it doesn't work in Steem like that. Even though, there would be a possibility of getting upvotes if you Support club100, but you also need to work harder, making your post or content stands out or stand on top. You need to be consistent and having contributed to the Steem Blockchain for a while, while supporting the blockchain with all zeal in terms of commenting, upvoting, feedbacks, engaging in Steemitblog Initiative and contributing towards helping build Steem economy.
The idea should be clear to Steemians that as Newbies, you have come to support Steem Economy but not only for your personal gain of getting Steem earnings and cashing out of any Steem tokens you get.
Some Newbies come to Steem with the mind set of Steem being money venture, so they would be calculating what they would get by the end of the day or week without thinking first of all how to support Steem Economy Growth. Some come with hunger so, immediately they get Steem earnings, they begin to withdraw, instead of thinking of the long term investment.
I believe it's not the fault of the Newbies, but the concept of how Steem work, should be educated by the Recruiters. With the advent of club5050, club75 and club100, the Newbies need more education to understand how the system works. It is the duty of Country Representatives, Leaders of various Communities or Recruiters to explain to Newbies the fact that they would be getting earning of Steem token from their post doesn't mean that they are to withdraw. They should focus on investing for future, while doing this, they are also supporting Steem economy growth and that is club5050, club75 and club100.

We haven't actually selected people who should recruit newbies and those who do not. But we want to make sure that our Newbies recruited are well engaged, in terms of commenting on their posts, upvoting their posts, correcting their mistakes especially not to Plagiarise and many services we need to offer for them. Since Newbies are mostly willing to get upvotes, the Recruiters must have some little Steem power to support the Newbies. Let's also remember to recruit those who upon explaining steem to them would be committed to work and not those who would come today and leave tomorrow.
