Yes, the year in bracket is necessary as it distinguishes this movie from its prior one in 2016. I would recommend watching that first, if you haven't, before watching this current one.
Now on to this movie, it starts out with Amanda Waller recruiting dangerous prisoners for her 'task force x' similar to the prior one. The difference of which there are many, is that this time round Amanda puts together two different 'task force x' teams, with the first team ending up as sacrificial lambs or decoy to distract and make way for the second team, tasked with the original mission.
The second team comprises of Bloodsport, Peacemaker, King shark, Ratcatcher 2, Polka dot man and later on joined by colonel Flag and Harley Quinn, both survivors from the first team.
The mission was to infiltrate Jotunheim a research facility in the country of Corto Maltese and destroy every trace of Project starfish, a secret project that was funded secretly by the U.S government in collaboration with the Corto Maltese monarch, who have just been ousted and eliminated in a coup d'etat. Unfortunately for the team, all doesn't go as planned and certain unforseen circumstances kick in.
This movie is action packed, filled with excitement, laughter, suspense and most of all, very thrilling to the nerves.
