Communication is a very important aspect of our lives. Life wouldn’t have been easy without social contact and communication. Socializing with people as an aspect of communication and learning of languages is one of the empiric or experimental conditions of our every day life and activities.
Face to face communication or contact with one another has been the best and common way of communication every time we communicate. Face to face communication has the most advantage of focusing the attention to facial mimic. There is a constant, immediate and sure feedback or response between or among the people communicating. This response or feedback comes about in the form of questions which requires and demands answers and continuous alternating conversations. We all know that, more of our communication falls under the nonverbal communication. Such nonverbal communication includes the facial expression, gestures and even body posture which is also a definite nonverbal communication that work very effectively for people.
Talking about facial expression, it covers a big portion of nonverbal communication. Let imagine the amount of information we can get or acquire from a frown, smile, anger, happiness and even fear. Sometimes, we all can testify to the fact that, the look on people’s face even before we address or meet them tells us if we can go ahead with conversations. So, a lot more people bring conversations up depending on the mood of the other party which comes out of all these expressions and even emotions.
Gestures are also good ways people communicate even without words. These gestures can be pointing, waving, eye contact and even using fingers to display things.
These nonverbal signals are seen as being so influential in human communication. Nonverbal signs of communication can also determine and indicate feelings and attitudes.
Influence is also essential in communication. Influence can be negative or positive. Our behavior, attitude, character, experiences, knowledge, lifestyles, our smiles, anger, appearances, personality, relationships, abilities, capabilities, careers, education, skills, talents and even our health statuses can have effect, impact and control on other people who fall under our influence. Even our social status and social function affect influence.
Communication helps understanding people we interact and have conversations with and also establishing clarity of our thoughts, expressions and emotions.
