Lol, I remember all these myths and superstitious beliefs. I believed so much in them when I was young but not anymore. Anyway, it has helped in some ways because in actual sense it prevented some harms and damages that could be caused if we had ignored them especially the one that got to do with not singing whiles at the shower; In actually sense the chemicals in the bathing soap could cause harm to us if mistakenly swallowed as a result of singing.
