When one becomes a mother, a woman usually forgets her own happiness but minds the happiness of her children.

Great weekend steemians!!

Monday is fast approaching and weekends become preoccupied too. Today I wanna share a great experience I had being with the mothers of Olango. In the small island in Lapu- lapu City I was able to see in the small island of Olango the need of the people to be helped. From the children, mothers and the entire family, a lot of them struggle in their everyday lives.

Most of the time my kids and I don't or can not wear all the clothes we have at home. I always have hard time of where would I give the clothes we never wear.

I was a bit shy to bring the clothes we had at home, some were clothes we rarely wear and were really in good condition. But then I thought it could maybe be helpful especially those who doesn't make buying clothes a priority.

I was a bit confused of how will I segregate the clothes, so I decided to just put all the clothes together and let the mothers get what they want.

Mothers and children started to line up and came forward. I saw the smiles in their faces that lightened their eyes. The clothes that we didn't use are clothes that the people there are so happy to receive. I was surprise to see them so excited to get clothes. Many of them picked clothes for their kids and for their relatives children. Some mothers took one for themselves too.

It was such an amazing feeling when a mother came close to me and said Salamat kaayo ma'am sa inyo gihatag na sanina, She was so thankful with the clothes we brought. Something I did not expect since the clothes weren't brand new but they said thank you with gratitude.

Our day was indeed really very tiring. But honestly everytime I serve and do something for others I never get exhausted. Just being able to make other people happy and thankful of the simple blessings they receive recharges my energy.

Took a short break with a cold coconut juice was enough to quench our thirst. Going home with a full heart was what we needed. I can start my week again with a happy heart. Now my group/co teachers are planing to go back to the island and gather as much clothes and funds for this project. We hope to give more families as we go back there.

I am always thankful to steemcurator01 for believing in me and my group for the support he gives is neverending. To @steemwomenclub for believing that women are capable to make a difference in this world and empowering us to do better.
